The organic farming, also known as biological, is an alternative system of agricultural production wich is used to obtaining the highest quality, free of chemical residues and environmentally friendly food.
Organic agriculture respects the natural cycles of each product, avoiding a disruption of the environment and it adapts to the production capacity of the land, allowing the renewal of natural resources and seeking not only productivity but sustainable production.
The European Union has a labeling system which allows consumers to know the organic or ecological origin of the products. Organic farming is based on the following principles and goals:
- It chooses plants resistant to disease and adapted to local conditions
- It does not use genetically modified organisms. NON-GMO
- It do not use pesticides or fertilizers, whether chemical or synthetic
- It uses crop rotation as a prerequisite for the efficient use of resources in situ
